Case introduction

The cement production line of the mechanical kiln in South Hwanghae Province, North Korea, was a project undertaken by Global Heavy Industries in 2011, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons. It is a small and medium-sized dry process cement production case. The entire production line, from process design, cement equipment production, to cement machinery and equipment installation, has been a turnkey project. The new mechanical kiln used has a reasonable preheating process, less heat loss, and the discharge temperature can be controlled within the ambient temperature of +60℃, so the thermal principle is reasonable. The disadvantage of the traditional kiln is the poor combustion conditions.

Case advantages

South Hwanghae Province, North Korea chooses vertical kiln

First, considering that cement plant construction requires little investment, has a short construction period, simple process, extensive management, and has no worries about the market and is profitable, a large number of vertical kiln cement enterprises have been built.

Second, the vertical kiln cement industry has a low entry threshold, fast administrative approval, and few regulatory links. At that time, cement was in short supply and there was a large gap, making it a hot commodity with huge market demand.

Third, Global Heavy Industries has been based on cement machinery and equipment for 30 years, and its advantages in technological progress, quality improvement and price competitiveness of vertical kiln cement have also promoted its rapid development.

Production Process

Generally speaking, a mixing kiln that uses manual feeding and discharging is called an ordinary kiln. Now, a semi-mechanized mixing kiln that uses mechanical feeding, manual distribution and discharging is also considered an ordinary kiln.

A kiln is a low-speed rotating steel circular cylinder lined with refractory materials, used to calcine cement clinker. It is placed on several pairs of supporting wheels at a certain inclination, relying on the wheel belt on the cylinder, and is driven by a motor or hydraulically driven to make the cylinder rotate within a certain speed range. Raw materials are fed from the high end (kiln tail) and move to the low end (kiln head). Fuel is blown in from the low end to generate flames, burning the raw materials into clinker.

In the 33 years from 1973 to 2005, the output of vertical kiln cement has exceeded that of rotary kiln cement. In the past, vertical kiln cement was only a supplement to rotary kiln cement, but now vertical kiln cement has occupied a pivotal position in the cement production structure, and it is precisely because of this that the production and installation of vertical kilns have mature technical experience.
